One of the many topics covered in our last conference call was labeling the files you voice for other stations. It would be helpful for most people that receive your VO if you were to include your name (or the name of the person who voiced the spot) in the name of the file you send that way they can refer to that person again for future requests, program their avails better so they don't have back-to-back the same voice, etc.
Here are some suggestions for labeling files for easier identification - feel free to chatter and suggest others in comments.
ABCGrocery-JenniferB (first name, last initial)
ABCGrocery-JenniferPA (first name, state)
ABCGrocery-11-11-11-Jennifer (date, name)
11-11-11ABCGrocery-Jennifer-dry (date, name, etc)

Another thing we can discuss in comments is file organization. How do you do it? Please let us know your helpful tips and tricks!

I brought up a 'who's who' type coding. Let's face it we have an amalgam of folks on here. Prod Directors, On Air Talent Voices, A/E's who voice and A/E's who don't voice (In some cases though they cover words and commitment and get voice work reciprocated), and then a combination of all of the above and more! (Those are the ones I like to help first) So who's who? Maybe there can be a blog type thing. (Lurkers and dead weight need to jump ship, after all this is Radio, we all got a lot to do to make it happen)
ReplyDeleteWe also talked about folks using this great service for spec spots. If you want a variety of voices for a Spec Spot, please identify as such, so we can evaluate whether we want to do it. This is truly a great service, lets hone it to sharpen it! Thanks to all those who facilitate.
